Accessibility Statement

PRPharm is built to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, or browser zoom/text-resizing. Comparing medication prices is a task people often do while dealing with a health concern, so accessibility here isn't a nice-to-have.

Our standard

We design and build against WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our baseline. Concretely, that includes:

Semantic HTML — real headings, lists, tables, and buttons/links rather than generic clickable <div>s, so screen readers and other assistive technology can navigate the page structure correctly.
Keyboard operability — every interactive element on the Site (price table sorting, the drug-class filter, the Canadian pack-size selector, FAQ accordions, the mobile menu) can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
Color contrast — text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background (3:1 for large text), checked against our actual color tokens rather than assumed.
Color is never the only signal — sortable columns, "lowest price" highlights, and status badges all pair color with a visible label or icon, not color alone.
Respect for reduced-motion preferences — animations (like the savings counter) are disabled for users who have prefers-reduced-motion set in their operating system.
Responsive text and layout — the Site supports browser zoom and text resizing without breaking layout or hiding content, and works down to small mobile viewports without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time checkbox. Areas we're actively watching:

Some data tables (pharmacy price comparisons) are dense; we've prioritized clear column headers and row highlighting, but very long tables may still be easier to navigate with a screen reader's table navigation commands than by reading linearly.
Third-party links (pharmacy sites, government databases like DailyMed and Health Canada's drug database) are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

Reporting an accessibility issue

If you encounter a barrier using this Site with assistive technology, please tell us — include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology/browser you were using if possible. We treat accessibility reports as a priority, the same way we prioritize safety-related content corrections.
